We found a Totoro shop sells ocarina musical instruments. When I first heard the music I fall in love with it. I might learn it if I have the chance to. 😀

When you walk up the stairs to the top, can get to see the very nice view of Taiwan! Love the nice view up here, Taiwan is one of the best scenery view I first seen.

Shi Fen, 十份

We took a cab here, we met a taxi driver gave us a package from Jiu Fen to Shi Fen, then head to Cat Village and the Shi Fen Waterfall and back to Taipei Straight to our hotel. Cost us about NTD$1100. Slightly expensive.

You can let the driver know which are the places that you want to go and they can give the price slightly cheaper. If you want to skip certain places, can let them know too.

Here we are to send wishes sky lanterns!

Have a short walk and feel the beautiful breeze at the 20 metre tall Shifen Waterfall (十分大瀑布). 20 minutes away, towards the train platform.

Depends on which place you want to go, some people might take the whole day to explore Jiufen. Shifen + Shifen Waterfall might take about half day (It’s depends). You can choose to go Jiufen first or Shifen, it’s up to you :). To us we went to Jiufen first, cause we took a bus from Ruifang to Jiufen.

Tips: Have to take the TRA from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang Station FIRST.

How To Get There:

Get To Ruifang station, Bus to Jiufen: (This route is to go Jiufen)

From Taipei Main Station (台北車站), take the train north to Ruifang Station. After exiting the station and facing the Welcome supermarket, take a left and walk 200 metres down Mingdeng Road.

Next to the police station is a bus station (named Local Residents Plaza, 區民廣場) with routes 827 and 788 heading toward Jiufen. Please note that the bus stop next to the police station heads east toward Jiufen, and the bus stop across from the police station heads west toward Taipei. Route 825 provides weekend service only. From here, the bus trip takes roughly 15 minutes, and the fare is NT$15.

Train to Shifen 十分火車站 : (This route is to go Shifen)

1. Take the train (TRA) to Ruifang Station (瑞芳站) at the Taipei Main Station. – follow the underground signs to get to TRA Train.

2. Alight at Ruifang Station and buy tickets for the Pingxi Line (平溪支線). Take the train to Shifen Railway Station (十分火車站). Rides are unlimited on the Pingxi Line.

3. Taking a Taxi from Ruifang Station: You can save some time by taking the train to Ruifang Station, and take a taxi there. The prices are regulated by the authorities and clearly indicated, so the taxi drivers cannot overcharge. Save even more by sharing a taxi with other travellers going the same way.

A shuttle bus service is available to Jiufen then on to Shifen Old Streets (十分老街) from Taipei City at Ximen (西門町), leaving in the morning and returning before dinner.
